MeI have always wanted to draw and paint, especially botanical painting. However, whenever I started I very quickly became disheartened. The basic drawing was never good enough.
My art teacher at school had advocated for being bold - draw your lines with confidence and don't 'tickle'. That works, sometimes and for some people. For me, it became frustrating as half way through, I would find that I hadn't left enough space, the proportions were not working out - you may know the feeling. I have been retired for a few years now, so no excuse for not practicing - well, maybe. There is always a new cafe to try out, how about that place for lunch, we need some shopping! The pandemic and total lock-down here in Peru removed all those distractions and I went on-line to search out some courses. I found Matt Fussell of The Virual Instructor. Matt was an art teacher in North Caroloina, USA. His teaching methods are totally different to my old school art teacher, and I found that I could actually draw! You can find Matt at thevirualinstructor.com . I'm not affiliated and I don't receive a single cent from him by the way! |
